Each card of rank 2-10 is worth its face value in points. A Jack counts as 11, a Queen as 12, a King as 13, and an Ace counts as 14.

To start the game each player makes a wager on the betting spot, the dealer will then place two cards face up.

The objective of the game is to bet on the likelihood that the rank of a third card will fall within the spread, when that happens the player wins according to the announced odds. So based on the spread and what the odds are the players now have the option of raising their initial wager, which means doubling it.
